BaptismCongratulations, this is a time of great happiness and a time of great responsibility. We would like to share your happiness and your responsibility and would be delighted for you to contact us about having your child’s baptism in one of our churches. The Church takes Baptism very seriously and we would like you to take the time to think about the importance of Baptism for yourself, your family and your child. Jesus teaches that at our birth we become members of our natural families and citizens of the country in which we are born. But, natural birth is not enough, Jesus's disciples must be spiritually born again to become members of God’s family and citizens of God’s Kingdom, Baptism is this means. You should examine your own faith, and ask yourself the following questions: Do you believe in God the Father, maker
of all things? You should be able to answer YES to all these questions. You will be required to do so during the Service of Baptism. Baptisms are held during one of the Sunday Services. Baptism is not a private ceremony. It is a time when new members are born into the Family of God and it is therefore fitting that other members of God’s Family are present. The child should be baptised in the Parents own Parish Church, or the Church, which the parents normally attend. There is no Baptismal fee. But it is customary for the parents to make a special thanks offering to God for this great gift given to their child. We hope that you will join us in our happy parish community. You have the blessings and good wishes of our parish as you prepare for this happy day in your life.
