The Garden of Remembrance is intended to receive the ashes of people who are or have been on the electoral rolls of St. Michael’s and St. Matthew’s, their children and spouses. Interest in this is keen, and it is now in use. The inscription on one side of the entrance is “Garden of Remembrance” and on the other side of the entrance, “I am the Resurrection and the Life, saith the Lord.”

The Garden was consecrated in 1971 by the Rt. Rev. R. W. Dann, Regional Bishop of the Central Region, Diocese of Melbourne. The names of the deceased whose ashes are interred are inscribed on the memorial plates and in the Book of Remembrance. -
